How long should I wait before laying carpet after painting skirting board? - before and after andcommunication piece

Currently I am re-decorating a room without carpet. I was told that after painting the skirting, I somewhere 3 to 14 vacation days (depending on the source) before laying carpet, because if the color is still "soft", which are easily ignored.

I would rather not wait, 2 weeks, if not necessary, but I can not smart. Has anyone any idea how long I leave the baseboards before painting over the carpet?
